History

It all started back in 1979 under the shade of three majestic pecan trees. With little more than an old truck and some second hand equipment, Harold Fulford began roofing commercial buildings in Carroll County, Georgia. He launched West Georgia Resources as a one man operation with a 10 foot building height limit. Why the limit? In the early days he had to pitch gravel to the roof from the ground using nothing but a shovel, as well as carrying hot asphalt up a ladder in five gallon buckets. Work was hard, but he was committed to his family and building the business. As West Georgia Resource’s client list grew, his wife Beverly began helping him in the field and in the office. It wasn’t long before the two of them were adding full time employees.

West Georgia Resources moved to its current location in 1986. It has grown into one of the area’s most successful small business, providing jobs to a fulltime staff of 20+ employees and a operating a fleet of 14+ vehicles. The company is licensed and bonded to work in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Harold and Beverly have since retired, but the business has stayed in the family. Today, Gene Fulford is at the helm providing the second generation of Fulford leadership as the company continues to expand its markets.
